Steven Palmer


Steve founded Draycott Place Consulting in 2018 to assist companies to take advantage of growth opportunities and manage risk. Prior to launching Draycott Place, he was the CEO of Entitle Direct Group, Inc., the holding company of EnTitle Insurance Company, a nationally licensed Title Insurance Company for four years. Steve was responsible for setting strategy, and all aspects of the company’s operations including interfacing with the company’s clients, rating agencies, and regulators. He led the company to a sale to Radian Group (RDN:NYSE) in 2018.

Prior to leading Entitle Direct, Steve headed up the private equity group at PartnerRe Ltd, a global reinsurance company with $8 billion of total capital. While at PartnerRe, Steve originated, negotiated, structured, and monitored a portfolio of direct and fund investments which were predominantly in the insurance industry. Steve also assisted PartnerRe’s executive team make strategic acquisitions of (re)insurance companies. Prior to joining PartnerRe, Steve spent three years working at an insurance focused private equity firm called CCP Equity Partners.

Steve has an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College, and a BBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and is Chartered Financial Analyst. Steve maintains the Series 7, 63, and 79 FINRA Registrations through Weild & Co.

In addition to being a father of two young(er) children, he also volunteers with Hire Heroes USA, which provides job search assistance to US military veterans and their spouses and helps companies connect with opportunities to hire them.

Ron Gardner

Strategic Advisor

Ron has been the President of Rosemark Group since 2010. Rosemark provides product development and program management services for third party administrators in the service contract / ancillary products industry. Ron has been in the F&I products space for the past 30 years and has served as COO/CFO of third-party administrator programs for the past 25 years. Ron was part of the operating team that transformed AUL Corp from a small regional company based in Napa, CA to a company with a national footprint. AUL eventually sold to a private equity firm and continues to operate as one of the leaders in the industry.

Ron was also instrumental in licensing FFG Insurance Company in Texas and assisted with the licensure of this company in all 50 states and maintained a consistent rating of A- Excellent with AM Best.

Ron is a licensed insurance agent in Texas and has extensive experience in property and casualty insurance and F&I product development and management.

Ron holds a BSBA in Accounting from the University of Arkansas, has been married to his wife Jameye for 37 years and has three grown children, Reed, Sarah and Seth. Ron has been active in his local community supporting local ministries such as Brother Bill’s Helping Hand and Men of Nehemiah and coaching youth sports at the local YMCA. When Ron is not working, he enjoys golf and traveling with his family to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Barbara Contreras

Strategic Advisor

In 2018, Barbara was the Controller for A-CAP Holdings LLC, a life insurance holding company where she was responsible for creating and then managing the consolidated GAAP financials for over $4 billion of assets relating to over 20 companies. Prior to A-CAP, Barbara worked for PartnerRe Capital Markets Corp. from 2007 through 2016 as a Managing Director where she managed the Investment Accounting function, heading accounting as well as all internal and external reporting for five capital market companies with over $16 billion of invested assets. Additionally, Barbara led the Investment Operations area which was focused on providing support for in-house asset management including ensuring settlement, cash and position reconciliations, and valuation and performance calculation.

Prior to PartnerRe, Barbara worked for Converium Reinsurance (North America), Inc. from 1990 to 2007, serving as a key member of the Company’s Global Executive Finance Management Group and North America Senior Management Group. She directed all areas of Finance including technical accounting, financial reporting, account payable, tax, expense planning and reporting and payroll. Additionally, Barbara created and executed strategic business plans aligned with a broader vision that encompassed industry trends, technology, compliance issues and business development objectives and led and mentored a high performance team with functional oversight for general accounting, reporting, compliance, and quarterly financials for a $1 billion operation.

Barbara has an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a BS from Bryant University.
